Lanny Barnes is the co-founder and President of T.O.P. Shooting Institute and is a three time Olympian in the sport of Biathlon. Lanny has been competing as an elite athlete and competitive shooter for over 15 years and has mastered shooting with an elevated heart rate and under stress. Also known as “Lanny Oakley”, she has developed a reputation as one of the best and fastest shooters in the world when she competed in Biathlon Word Cups for over 15 years and throughout three Olympic Games. The more stress that was put on her, the better she performed while shooting. As well as a T.O.P. Instructor, Lanny is poised to take on the 3- gun world to see where her speed and accuracy can take her.
Lanny has spent over 10 years studying the physiological and psychological effects that an elevated heart rate and stress have on the human body and how they can affect the shot. She has mastered shooting while under physical stress, elevated heart rate, as well as extreme pressure and mental stress. Lanny has a degree in Physiology & Kinesiology and her knowledge of the bodies physiological and psychological responses to stress has helped her break down the different aspects of those responses as well as break down the mechanical aspects of shooting and how they can be managed to have proper target acquisition and engagement.
