This is an extreme wild rugged trail race for "experienced mountain runners only and you must be 18 yrs or older" to participate. There has never been a trail race on SADIE KNOB. You must pay attention to stay on this narrow rugged trail and not wander down a bear trail by mistake and watch your footing. There will be some brush and bears and amazing views. Print & READ the waiver to be sure you are qualified to participate & to get the list of REQUIRED gear. Running cut off time is 4 hours. (Normal hiking time is 7+ hours) About 8.5 or 9 miles with 2200' to the summit with 2760' gain. Start at North Eldred Trailhead on the ocean, up Knob trail to summit and then back down Knob trail, left at knob intersection run and finish at South Eldred Trailhead on the ocean.
NOTE: RACE FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE BOAT TRANSPORT. This race is only accessible by boat. Racers arrange their own drop-off by water taxi from Homer to North Eldred trailhead 11 am or earlier and pickup by water taxi at South Eldred after 5 or 6pm.
