From the sandy beach up to the bluffs overlooking the waves crashing into the rocks below and through dense coastal forest, this scenic course captures all of the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and coastline. The 50K runners will start by doing an out and back section on the hard packed sand (the 20 mile skips this section), then run through the charming seaside town of Yachats before heading out Cape Perpetua park. After a loop of single track trail, runners will head back for an oceanside finish line on the lawn of the Adobe Resort in Yachats. The course is a mix of dirt single track trail, gravel trail, gravel road and a little bit of pavement(plus the 50K has those first 6 miles on sand. Post race we will hang out at the finish line, lay in the sun-warmed grass while the ocean dances behind you. This is an excellent race to make a fun family or friend getaway for the weekend!
