Select the Tandem or Triple pull down option if you are sharing the same boat and calculating your time as one finish. For individual, select Yourself or Someone Else. If you are also in a "rat pack," designate the rat pack name in the section beneath the participant name, so your Rat Pack is also scored together as a group.
Please note, there are a few changes this year. The race officially begins with the safety briefing at 9:00am, but the meeting will be held in the parking lot. You can still begin unloading your kayaks, SUPS, canoes, etc. at 6:30am. We will start in the same spot, the Bayou D'Arbonne Boat Ramp (Old Joe Bob's Landing) off White's Ferry Rd in West Monroe, but this year, we will end at Lazarre Park on the corner of Hamilton and Thompson Street in West Monroe. Lazarre will offer more room for us to spread out, easier access to retrieve watercrafts, as well as restroom and pavilion facilities. This makes the total distance 7.7 miles (just over 1 mile longer), but we will still present the coveted River Rat Paddle Challenge awards to those who can make it to the original finish line at the Endom Bridge in an hour or less!
We are planning to start in "waves," meaning predetermined groups will start in 15 minute increments. This will help decrease congestion at the starting line, as well as the number of persons on the ramp at a time. You can purchase an extra meal for your +1 when you register, as well as an additional event shirt. We highly encourage participants to make every effort to social distance from River Rats outside of your household and protect the health of yourself and others. If governmental restrictions require canceling more than 3 weeks prior to the event date, refunds will be issued via PayPal less $3 processing fee. In the event cancellation occurs less than 3 weeks prior to the event date, refunds will be given minus $20 and event shirts can be picked up at H2Go in Monroe.
