Welcome to the LiveLighter Northam to Toodyay Race!

DETAILS
Sunday 18th July
Start Line: Broome Terrace, Northam
Finish Line: Duidgee Park, Toodyay
Check-In: 8.00am – 8.30am
Briefing: 8.30am
Start: 8.45am
Helmets and life jackets are compulsory at this race. NO LIFE JACKET or HELMET = NO RACE
A big thank you goes to Canning River Canoe Club for organising the food for competitors at the finish line.

THE COURSE – 30km
The race starts 500 metres above Northam Weir
The river to Katrine Bridge is characterised by flat water and intermittent deep pools
2km after Katrine Bridge is Glen Avon Rapid, a small but tricky rapid
After 7km of coffee rock, Sinclair’s Crossing underneath Dumbarton Bridge can have many channels in low water
Soon after is Extracts Weir which is a COMPULSORY PORTAGE in this race
The rest of the race to Toodyay is shallow with a gravel bed
Note: there will be a cut-off time to reach Katrine Bridge, which will be posted closer to the event. Any craft that do not reach the bridge by this time must withdraw from the race.

RACE COST
PWA Members: $20
Non-PWA Members: $40
Note: $0.05 has been added to each fee so payments to PWA can be identified as a race entry fee.

CLASSES
Prizes will be won from a random drawn of the bibs, rather than place-finishes within your class, so everybody has a chance to win!
Age: minimum age is 16, on the day of the race
Class constitution: Male: 4 craft to a class | Female: 3 craft to a class
Open class will be constituted first for each class, then refined by age. The race organisers reserve the right to combine craft to form a class.
K2 and K3 competitors should enter individually
SUP's are welcome to participate in this event - however, please note the cut off time at Katrine Bridge (TBA).
