Sprint Squad

Event notes
Sprint Squad is back, Monday 6:15pm to 8:15pm - please do not enter the stadium before 6pm as this will give the Junior Squad 15 minutes to pack up and exit (entry and exit only through the main entrance).
Under current regulations we are allowed a maximum of 9 riders and one coach, and riders will have to enter via Webscorer. If you have entered, your concession card will be charged whether you turn up or not, as you are potentially preventing another rider from attending.
Please read the waiver carefully, as there are many new rules that we have to adhere to if we are going to be able to run community sport successfully under Level 2 restrictions.
If you are not riding, please do not enter the stadium. No helpers, parents, partners, or children will be allowed at the session - only riders and the coach please.

Cycling Southland Covid-19 Level 2 procedures: TRACK

*All procedures are subject to additional venue and government regulations in force at the time.*

Access control and contact tracing:
- Only the main entrance to the Stadium to be used.
- Use the Stadium’s contact tracing system (QR code scanning at the entrance)
- Sign in sheets (including space for telephone number and address) for each session - coach to fill this in to avoid people sharing a pen
- Separate pen provided for each session folder
- Everyone needs to be signed in - riders, coaches, others attending session (helpers), also parents who enter the venue when dropping off a child
- Parents/partners not to enter the venue if at all possible in order to reduce the contact tracing required - drop off and pick up outside stadium main entrance

Social distancing and reducing contact:

Rider duties:
- Bring your own helmet - no shared Cycling Southland helmets as it presents a possible source of transfer
- Ensuring distancing when sitting down in the D before/between efforts
- Do not touch other riders’ equipment or ask them to hold your bike for you
- No sharing of tools, chainrings,
- All equipment to be wiped after use - this includes wiping down of pump or compressor after inflating tyres
- No physical touching of one another
- Hand sanitiser to be used/hand washing
- No congregating before or after sessions

Coach duties:
- Eliminating overlap between groups - sessions need to be spaced so that one group has left the velodrome (that includes the D, the tunnel, the lockup) before the next group enters
- Ensuring there is enough space between riders when seated in the D
- Ensuring equipment is wiped down before and after session - schedule extra time for this
- Ensuring that Lock-up door (and all doors where practical) are wedged open to ensure riders do not need to touch door handles
- Ensuring baffles in the tunnel are moved out of the way so riders do not have to push their way through

Session structure:
- Keep groups on the track at any one time as small as possible, and don’t change composition of groups during the session
- Keep those groups separated in the D as well
- Ensuring that session is structured to minimise/eliminate close contact between riders. This means:
-Avoid Madison or other intentional contact drills
-Avoid drills that require holding onto the handrail as that is a potential source for transfer
- Coaches should avoid touching riders or their equipment - riders need to adjust their own bikes, riders need to put their own bikes in the gate, but only coaches to touch the gate, move and remove the gate from the track.

- No private track hire initially, unless a Cycling Southland staff member or Cycling Southland coach is involved to ensure health and safety requirements are adhered to.

Cycling Southland Staff responsibilities:

- Ensure that these procedures are circulated to all coaches, members and parents and are placed in prominent places around the track and available on our social media channels.
- Ensure everything, including all equipment, and is clean before first session of the day.
- Ensuring that there are wipes/hand sanitizer in the D for riders and coaches to use.
- Ensure that the session folders are available for each group for contact tracing.
