Join us for the latest Virtual MyHomeCourse5k run on the weekend of April 18, 19, 20 from your own home. This self timed event is free to attend, but we ask participants to please consider supporting the North End Opportunities Fund by making a donation to support in an equitable manner young people in our North End of Halifax to participate in sport, camps and other recreational activities.


The course: All racers must start and finish from their front door, creating a 5K course (loop or out and back) that is their very own MyHomeCourse5K. Results from the virtual race will be posted on Webscorer and finishing result positions will be used to help us randomly draw for a few prizes. When complete, send a link to your effort to email To make this event fair, we will accept Grade Adjusted or GAP paces to "flatten the course" as we flatten the curve.

All participants must register and sign a waiver. All participants must adhere to local rules concerning outdoor activity and choose a time period with low pedestrian traffic.

The vision for MyHomeCourse5k is a series of small-scale easy-to-organize 5k events hosted by anyone on their home course. It embraces the concept of micro-charity versus large-scale fundraising for a single big event. The concept was started by Luke MacDonald of Aerobics First who has organized 5k events in his neighbourhood and embraced by the BLT runners for a couple of events as well.
