**RACE REGISTRATION IS SUSPENDED UNTIL THE LENGTH OF THE CRISIS IS KNOWN. **



The 26.4K and relay is a trail course and is often muddy and slick in the fall. Terrain varies from 4 wheeler trails to single track and ski trails. The trail is very pretty with all the dangers of rural Alaska. No one under 18 is allowed without an adult running with them. Please be prepared for remote, wild conditions. Bear spray is encouraged. This race begins at 10AM.

Both races start at the Flying Squirrel and finish in downtown Talkeetna.
You may register as an individual or a 3-person relay team for the 26.4k. Each person registered prior to the cut-off date of July 1, 2020 will get the T-Shirt size they choose. In order to reserve a T-shirt for each relay team member that registers before July 1, email pta.talkeetna@gmail.com and list each member's name and T-shirt size.

The Bun To Bun trail 26.4K/relay and 5K fun run began as a way for the Talkeetna Elementary PTA to encourage healthy activity and to raise money for its Healthy Snack and Salad Bar programs. Our first official run in 2014 began and finished at two bakeries: the Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe and the Talkeetna Roadhouse, hence the name "Bun to Bun!"

We have since expanded the mission of the event to support other PTA programs that aim to improve the quality of the educational experience for the students of Talkeetna Elementary School. Currently, our most ambitious project is funding our art program. Without this program there would be very little art education in the school.

With our Healthy Snack Program we attempt to expose children to a wide variety of healthy, nutritious foods. Our Salad Bar Program allows us to offer a free salad bar 2 days a week to all children.
