Event notes
Welcome to the Burley Griffin 24HR Paddle Challenge - also the 5th & final race of the 2019 PaddleNSW Ultra Marathon Series.

The Burley Griffin 24HR Paddle Challenge, run over 24 hours, is open to paddlers 15 years or older, in all craft, and can be paddled Solo or as a relay in Teams of varying sizes. Juniors who are not yet 15 years old at the start of the event may enter, but are NOT permitted to commence a lap of the course between 7:30pm & 6:30am.

You can take a serious approach and compete for the Distance/Time Trophies in either the Solo or Serious Relay categories, or you can get a few mates together to have fun and see how far you can go in 24 hours as a Fun Relay team.

Solo categories cater for Singles (1 paddler maximum) and Doubles (2 paddlers maximum) craft only.
Relay Teams (Serious) competing for the maximum distance trophy can have from 2 to a maximum of 4 paddlers.
Relay Teams (Fun) paddling to see how far they can go, for fun, can have from 2 to a maximum of 8 paddlers.
There are individual Categories for SUP's, Dragon Boats and OC6's.

Members of Dragon Boat NSW, and Surf NSW, are not required to purchase the PNSW Single Event Licence for this event.

You must nominate a Team Name in your entry, whether you are a Team of 1, or a Team of 8.

It is important that in ALL Teams that ALL paddlers enter EXACTLY the same Team Name.

Early Bird entries are available until midnight Tue 3/12/19.
All entries close at midnight Thu 5/12/19.

Paddler check-in from 7:30am. Race start at 10:00am.

The Course is a 4.7 km lap/circuit on the still-water of the Molonglo River – you will not be going out onto Lake Burley Griffin.

Amenities: BGCC Club Shed has separate male/female showers (warm) & toilets, a fridge, microwave oven, kettle and pod-coffee machine. There are also public toilets and free public barbecues.

Camping: is not permitted - but "Shelter Tents" are. (nothing too elaborate please!)
