The Monarch Mountain - Race the Divide! It will take place on February 16th at 7:00AM



Possible course may include:(weather/conditions dependent)
Base Area Start
Climb Little Mo to Mirkwood (1100’+ Elevation Gain)
Descend Mirkwood to the Elation 5 Meadow
Climb Elation 8 to Frog Rock/Top of Orcs (550’ + Elevation Gain)
Descend S Street and Fifi’s 1
Climb from Fifi’s 1 Pick-up to Top of Mirkwood (500’ + Elevation Gain)
Descend Mirkwood and Egress Road
Climb Ramble On to Mirkwood (1000’+ Elevation Gain)
Descend Mirkwood and Egress Road to Finish Area at Bottom of Ramble On


– Bib # pickup will be at the base of Monarch Mountain prior to race start.

– 7:00 AM START, late registration, number pick-up in Monarch Mt. base lodge from 5:30 am till race start!

– The RECREATION course will be approximately 2,500 ft., the RACE COURSE 4,000+

“Race Category” Specific Rules and Gear Requirements:



Racers are required to carry standard snow safety equipment: avalanche probe, avalanche shovel and 457 kHz avalanche beacons
A pack that can carry skis
Hydration source
Goggles, helmet shield or sunglasses
Windproof upper body layer must be worn or carried in pack
Skis must be alpine style skis with metal edges (NO split boards), randonee or 75mm or NTN telemark bindings are acceptable.


“Rec Category” Gear Requirements:



Racers are required to carry a hydration source (bottle or bladder)
Goggles, helmet shield or sunglasses
Windproof upper body layer must be worn or carried in pack
Rec participants must be on alpine style skis or split boards with metal edges. Randonee, tech, telemark or split board bindings are all acceptable in this category.
