2019 VRC Race Series – Race 2



The second race of the season is upon us and we are bringing back Cupid’s Race.
All crafts are welcome, OC’s, OC6’s, Surfskis, SUP’s, rowers and any other craft.
Weather can still be unpredictable and we will watch the weather carefully closer to the date and make appropriate decisions before race day.

Courses

(Alternative Courses might be considered depending on the day’s condition)
Long Course: VRC - Loop around cans in RB and Round Island - or loops around the cans in RB and MI (¬8.5km)
Sprint Course: VRC - Middle Island - PS buoy - VRC (¬5.6km)

Those with limited experience might consider doing the Sprint Course

Schedul


Registration: 7.15 to 8.00 am sharp, race briefing 8.15 am, both at the VRC.
Race starts: 8.30 am
Feeding paddlers & Cupid’s prize giving 1030pm – Please confirm your attendance on WebScorer and if you bring guests.

Please arrive early to allow time to complete the registration process.

Please read attached to this email the 2019 VRC Race Series Safety Guidelines, review the waiver in this link and click the check box below to accept it. Pass a copy to us at registration to safe time!

Cupid’s Race Categories


Read email for instructions.Individual times for Race 2 still count towards the 2019 VRC Race Series standings.

Race Entry Fees


The 2019 Race Series Member (RSM) annual fee is 800$.
For races that start and finish in Deepwater Bay, the individual race entry fee is 150$ per entrant per race and 50$ per paddler for OC6s. RSM will get discounted entry fees for any downwind events (typically longer and further afield) for committing to the series for the year.
Please note that post-race event and boat transportation fees are excluded.

Safety


Leashes must be worn and PFDs worn on all long courses/downwind courses, no exceptions
