The Wisconsin Biathlon Association will be sponsoring a rifle zeroing and wind reading clinic on Saturday, December 15th.

Learn how biathlon rifle sights work and the best methods to quickly and efficiently zero your rifle in the limited time available prior to the start of a biathlon race.

This class will cover rifle sight characteristics for Izhmash and Anschutz style sights, point of impact measurements translated into sight adjustments, reading the wind speed & direction, and the sight corrections needed to zero and compete in windy conditions

It will be most beneficial for you to attend this class with your own rifle and the ammunition you plan to use during competition conditions (subsonic lead round nose .22LR only, no plated bullets). You must have a Competitor level membership in USBA or sign up to be a USBA member for a day (enter your USBA membership number below). If you are not biathlon safety certified, contact me prior to registering.

Participants should dress appropriately to be outside for a good portion of the morning. This class will be held rain, snow or shine.

Printed course materials will be provided at the clinic.

Fees are $30 for adults and $20 for middle and high school students. (Bring fee to clinic after registering online.)

Parents must sign and accept the liability waiver below.

Schedule

9:30 - 10:00 Registration
10:00 - 11:00 Classroom presentation of technical materials followed by a brief refresh
of range and biathlon safety procedures
11:00 - 1:00 Range practice and zeroing of rifle with your ammunition. Guided by WI Biathlon coaches.
