Welcome to the Magnetic Island to Townsville Swim



Now in its 64th year and the 11th year as a cageless swim, the iconic Magnetic Island to Townsville Swim is the showcase event of the Vorgee TOWSA Open Water Race Series 2018.

Enjoy North Queensland's tropical winter weather and participate in one of the most iconic open water swims in Australia.

The Magnetic Island to Townsville Swim starts from Picnic Bay on Magnetic Island and finishes on Townsville's shoreline, directly in front of Strand Park. Guided by a paddler, solos swimmers will swim a total distance of 8km. Places are also available for teams of two and teams of four.
