Thanks for your interest in our Ninesprings by night 10k race, an exciting night race around the picturesque Yeovil Country Park. Please note there is a seperate signup page the 5k event.

Age requirements for the race are 12 for the 5k race and 15 for the 10k race

“I agree to abide by the rules of the Association of Running Clubs (ARC) and the event. I understand that I enter the race at my own risk and that no person(s) or organisation(s) will be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss to myself prior to, during or after the event. I understand the organisers reserve the right to delay, postpone, cancel or not officially time the race in the event of adverse weather conditions or other events outside the organisers control. The determination of what constitutes this is reserved solely to the Race Director. Photographs of the race will be taken for publicity purposes. I understand that my image may be used and give permission freely for it to be used. I understand that entrants under 18 years old require the permission of a parent or guardian to take part in the event. I agree to my personal information being used as described below.”



Entry Conditions

This is a multi-terrain event and all competitors enter at their own risk. While medical assistance is provided for the duration of the event no liability will be accepted by either the race organisers Flying Fox Running or the land owners for any injury incurred by entering this race. By entering you are agreeing that you are physically capable of running this event. It is recommended that you train for this event. Information on which for guidance can be found here www.runnersmedicalresource.com. If you have not exercised for some time please consult your doctor. If you have a medical condition please list it on the back of your race number and seek medical advice before entering.



All competitors also agree to carry any equipment specified by the race organisers as being part of the safety requirements for the race.



On the day of the races, participants must be 12 years or over for a 5K multi terrain run or 15 years or over for a 10k multi terrain run. All entrants under the age of 18 years must submit a parental consent form to the organiser before their entry will be ‘confirmed’. It is a condition of entry that all competitors agree to the terms and conditions as set out on the race website.



Video footage and pictures may be used on the race website or that of our sponsors and in advertising material and media write-ups. All competitors entering any race or fun run agree to their photograph being used for these purposes.



For reasons of safety:

No entries are permissible from participants on bikes, roller skates, with pushchairs, dogs or any kind of mechanical aid.



Personal information handling in accordance with Data Protection Act (1998)

We take privacy issues seriously and want to be open about the way personal information you provide when you enter our races is collected and used. We use the personal information you give us to keep you informed about race arrangements, to develop and enhance our event, and inform you about future events. We may pass your information to our race partners to produce results. We are grateful to all our sponsors, without whom the race would not be possible. We will contact you using the email address you supply on your race entry form.



Complaints:

The organisers have taken every step possible to ensure this is a fun, safe and enjoyable event. We hope you will take the run in the spirit in which it is intended. If however, you do have cause for complaint please would you direct it to the Race Director at the Race Control Area where a formal written complaint can be recorded and duly noted or by email after the event.



Race Numbers:

Race entries are not interchangeable. Entries cannot be assigned, transferred or sold to any third party and is therefore strictly prohibited.



Accident and Illness Reporting:

In the event that you suffer illness or injury during the event, if you believe it is unsafe for you to continue in the event you are obliged to report it to the nearest marshal. The race organiser will then make appropriate arrangements.

Participants also have a duty to report to a marshal or event official as soon as practicable, anything that they see or hear which they reasonably believe may impact on the safety or welfare of themselves or others, connected to the event or otherwise.



Withdrawal from Event: If you are unable to take part in the event please inform the race director.



Competition

The event is a race. Athletes compete within their respective age and gender category. Prizes are awarded in all stated categories except where a low number of entrants means it is impractical to do so. This is at the organisers discretion.



All finishers will receive a medal.



Participants must:

Act in accordance with the law and adhere to the Highway Code

Act in accordance with the countryside code.

They are responsible for competing safely and with due respect for others.

Comply with the instructions of the organisers and other course officials.

Are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their personal records within the event database. Should any information change between registration and participation, it is the individual entrants’ responsibility to ensure that their records are updated accordingly.





Navigation

Event routes will be clearly signed and marshalled. However, whilst the organiser will make every effort to ensure that the routes are easy to follow, the onus of remaining on course rests with the athlete.



Unforeseen Circumstances and Event Cancellation

Should circumstances dictate, or in the interest of safety, the organisers reserve the right to make such changes to the published event routes as may be deemed necessary at their absolute discretion. In the event of the landowner eg SSDC deeming it necessary to close access to the public, we the organisers reserve the right to a) reschedule or if this is not possible b) cancel the event. This will, in all cases be a last resort.

In the event of the race(s) being cancelled monies are non-refundable. However the Race Director will make every attempt to provide an alternative race date.



Inappropriate or Dangerous Behaivour

The organiser reserves the right for any race official or marshal to be able to require a participant to retire from the race where their conduct is considered to be inappropriate and or a danger to others, whether runners, event staff or general members of the public. In such an eventuality the participant must surrender their race number to an event official and take no further part in the event.



Risk

Whilst appropriate risk assessments will be carried out before the event, competitors assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur whilst travelling to or from the event, during the event, or whilst on any premises related to the event.



Racing in public places can be dangerous, all participants in this event must agree to waive, release and forever discharge the event organisers, sponsors, promoters, and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event, from any liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that they may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with participation in this event. This includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.
