GROUP A NOTES

Group A will race five stages on challenging terrain and is intended for Pro and Expert riders. The race could require ~5,000 feet of climbing. Any Hatchery Ridge trails could be selected as part of a stage. On race day, we hope to have approximately 150 Group A racers.

The Race Webpage is the official method of communication, please check back regularly for updates.

During registration, you will select your gender and category (pro, expert, hardtail, or eMTB). Once we have a complete registration pool, we will subdivide the expert category into age groups; the remainder of the categories will not be subdivided. Experts, you will be notified of your resulting category once this is complete.

Over the past few years, we have tried different approaches to increase the number of female racers. The attempts did not result in the increase we had hoped. Therefore, this year we are not going to impose any limits based on gender but if a waitlist forms for the event, we may prioritize inviting female racers, if we do not have at least 33% for this group. Last year nearly every racer (male or female) that was on the waitlist did receive an invitation to race. So, if you end up on the waitlist, be patient and watch your email and the race webpage for invitation notices.

This year the Hardtail category returns!  And, although we love our eMTB friends and family, we would like this to be an acoustic event, primarily, and this year, the Group A eMTB category will be limited to a maximum of 10 male and 10 female racers.

Besides the race, the entry fee gets you access to three Friday practice shuttles, a swag bag, and a meal ticket and two drink tickets at the post-race awards party. The party is not to be missed!

See the Race Webpage for more information about free camping, spectator maps, and race updates.

No refunds will be permitted after August 24th. Up to August 24th, refunds will be offered minus $50. Race entry transfers will be permitted until Sunday September 7th but all monetary exchange is to be managed by the transferring parties. Changing your Group or Category will be permitted until Friday September 12th at 6PM. Group or category transfers must be requested by sending an email to info@redwoodcoastmtb.org by the deadline. No other method will be accepted
