I understand that this event carries with it inherent risks of physical injury or death, including suffering (without limitation) heat or sunstroke, dehydration, bites/stings from wildlife, physical exhaustion, concussion, drowning and hypothermia.
I represent that I am in good health and sufficiently competent and fit to participate in the event and in consideration of my participation, I (together with my heirs, executors and administrators where applicable) hereby agree to:
• Waive any claims against the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club and/or the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club Ocean Paddlers Committee Members (collectively the “Event Organisers”) and their directors, employees, agents or volunteers, that
may arise at or as a result of my participation in this event, to the maximum extent permissible in law; and
• Indemnify the Event Organisers and their directors, employees, agents and other volunteers, to the maximum extent permissible in law, from any costs, expenses, loss and liabilities arising from any claim brought against them by any third party as a result of my participation in the event; and
• Wear a safety leash and PFD or lifejacket and carry a mobile phone while paddling; and
• Not to paddle if feeling unwell or under the influence of alcohol or any other substance that could impair my judgment or performance; and
• Comply with all event rules and instructions of the Event Organisers; and
• Not to intentionally disturb, or paddle close to, any wildlife; and
• Authorize the Event Organizers to arrange (at my own expense) for my rescue and transportation to a hospital in the event of an emergency; and
• To maintain adequate medical insurance cover.
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Any claims arising out of, or in connection with, this Agreement are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the DIFC Courts.
