Ignore times. This was a points criterium with 8 sprints at 5 lap intervals. Top 3 in each category 5, 3 & 2points. Double points at 20 and 40 laps. 1st. James Grant(Vipyrs) 38 pts.,
2nd. Justin Mark (Speed River) 22 pts., 3rd. Iain Hay (MIVA/Vipyrs) 20, 4th. Brodie Hay (Vipyrs) 7, 5th. Mark Wieler (Arrowsmith) 5, 6th. Mark Grant (Vipyrs) 4, 7th. Paul Thompson (MIVA) 2, 8th. Ray Wagner (CVCC) 2.
Women: 1st. Janna Gillick (MIVA) 50, 2nd. Jessica Reynolds (Vipyrs) 30, 3rd. Carey Mark (speedRiver) 20.
All other placings were based on position in final sprint.
In the 16 km event, Abigail Hare (MIVA) outpaced Tayden DePol (MIVA) but they both scored Max. Points as I separate categories.
Great to see 15 year old Jessica stay with the bunch the entire race and also to see the great teamwork from the Vipyrs youth riders. They worked and blocked for each other and showed the senior riders how it's done.
As usual, excellent work by all the marshals and the finish line help. Series sponsors, Longwood Brewery are really pleased with the way the races are growing and should be back next year.
