Race report

The course was moved to the river due to strong wind warnings 15 plus knots. This was an awesome race, challenging conditions with flood tides, crosswind, water crafts. I made a couple of fobar decisions and took a not so good line, however my start was AWESOME of the line! Once on the turn buoy, I refocused and chased down my mates Ange Atina, and Tui. I was in stealth mode gaining on Tui in the back stretch. We had 50 m to go, and she didn't know it was me. Our clubbie Renne cheers us on by saying go ROCC, and then lets Tui know it was me behind her! DOH she beats me to the line 20 secs. Previously, Tui smashed me by 2 to 3 minutes... soooo happy with result :)

Panamuna Pearler of a Weekend - 24 km Relay, 4k x 3 times/ each pair - tag transition, awesome time with Tui, Tobe, Adam. on OC2, will do it again, but maybe have a practice beforehand

Paddled new canoe it compensated my body volume better than the Hurricane. Will workout the settings as we go along to suit conditions - probably should have left the back up a little as Lawrence had it set. There was headwind and outgoing tide. All in all I liked it!

First race of the series, being sick with Tonsilitis, but wanted to set a bench mark and paddled... not too sure on actually kms, but it was more than 8km? My next target is Fraser, and already know what areas I have to improve on

Last race of this series. I done it came in under the HOUR...Similar conditions to OC6 outgoing tide and headwind so in the run home coming back near Grand Hotel lost boat speed. Todays last 100 m was fabulous had cheers from the shore and the paddlers onthe water egging me on to finish...Next year will be even better ☺ - under 8 klm

Not favorable conditions for my experience, Unfortuately retired at the 2.5 Km make and turned back. Have to practice more inthe chop, but enjoyed the down wind back to the ROCC compound.

First Race out from the Gold Coast Seaway, SW winds, and swell 1.2m as well. Stayed back to be with my friend out in the open sea. She unable to finish the race, Then I did my best to chase down the next paddler I could see. Was a great challenge, thoroughly enjoyed.
