Race report
Brutal race start with 7-8 boats wide all funnelling into a narrow area to cross the bar, we have Newcastle ama on us at one stage and caught up with Mollymook also. Litterally had to stop get clear water then work to run them down. Once in clear water we started picking up boats and moving up. Was pretty rough outside and runs were pushing across us so constantly the ama was popping. Good race
Good solid hitout, battled with Chris Berry from Port Hacking for whole race until last km, then Colin Cook from central Coast caught a wave on bar then another on inside to catch me, with 300m drag race to the finish i couldnt match him. pretty happy with the race.
Very close race to the line with central Coast and newcastle neck and neck with us
Very windy with cross winds and was tough getting to the start line with waves on lake, we got a great start and led the whole way by half a boat
huge wave start we got blocked in for first km until we got clear water and chased down the pack, first across the line
Changed to inside the bay due to conditions. Start was okay but bit flat the first half but came home strong back end. Course was 1.5km short which sucked.
Tough race, first race of weekend outside heads into solid very rough 1-1.5m swell, was extremely challenging. i was seat 3, vince seat 4 and both had to paddle ama side for over 2km out to turn can as ama kept popping. 3 boats had huli in the race. Finished strong for 3rd, just couldnt catch 2nd.
Last race with the old club. Ring in with a team of novices.Great fun race. Nikki, Jo, Me, Vince, Phil and Dee
Tough day, small if any cross swell and warm day, hard slog the whole way.
Great race late in the day after big storms, kerry Davenport steered a great course, we led the whole race until 3/4 when gun Northern beaches women crew past us for line honours. Really strong paddle, Erin, Jo, me, Rob, Phil and Kerry
