Beautiful day for our sprint Duathlon (5K run/ 14 mile bike/ 5K run) and 5 K events! We do have splits for the duathletes, which are included in these results. There were a few athletes who had incorrect bib #s in the computer, so we could not get those splits, but the total time is correct. PLEASE, if you know the splits we are missing, or if you feel your times are not accurate, contact me!! It is crucial to have times and places correct, so let me know.
Excellent job to all athletes in both races; you all are amazing!
There where significant issues with dogs chasing bikers on a portion of the route. This is unfortunate. Future bike events will require that the race director approach home owners with dogs on the route beforehand. This may involve handing out flyers with an explanation of what can happen when their dogs chase or attack bikers. We are very sorry for these incidents created by unreasonable pet owners and will do our best to avoid it in all future races!!!! Our next race is scheduled for November 2nd, which is the Veteran's Day 5K and 10K run or walk. The 2014 race calendar is now published on www.ulbfit.com, the HOME page at bottom half. These dates are somewhat tentative, but start planning ahead! Thanks to everyone doing the events and also the volunteers as well as City Departments for all their help! See you at the next round!
