5K For The Feet


What is it?


Join us on April 1st 2017 at the inaugural 5K For The Feet charity run benefiting the MEDEX Urban Grace Foot Project. The MEDEX Urban Grace Foot Project was started in 2014 to provide aid to the underserved and often overlooked citizens of Tacoma. Held in conjunction with the weekly free breakfast at Urban Grace of Tacoma, physician assistant students from the University of Washington perform exams and provide basic foot care and exams to our local homeless and low income demographic.

Why do it?


All proceeds from the 5K For The Feet will go towards providing supplies for the project, to include socks, lotion, soaps, nail clippers and emory boards; along with basic over the counter medications such as anti-fungals and topical antibiotics. This project has been completely donation driven since inception. We rely on the kindness of our community to provide funding and supplies, as well as on our local medical providers to donate their time to oversee our students doing the work they do.

The Race


This will be a fast rolling course, mainly asphalt along the gorgeous 5 Mile Drive in Point Defiance Park. Race against your fellow do-gooders as you sprint beneath the towering trees and green canopies of the Pacific Northwest. There will be a small segment of gravel trail and the entire course will be closed to motorists.
