Race notes
Sydney Harbour Surf Club will host 5 Surf Ski races over 5 months starting from August to December 2018. In each event competitors will receive points based on their finishing position. At the end of the series a Sydney Harbour Surf Club Champion will be announced for each gender and age group.

Each event there will be a race held on a Saturday morning and on a Sunday morning to give everyone the opportunity to compete on the course. You can only compete in either the Saturday or the Sunday, not both.
Your handicap will be your starting time, meaning a 60+ female on a V8 Surf Ski will be given 50 secs per km handicap, if the race was (10km) the lady would start with a (8 mins 20 secs) head start from the final competitor.
You will be forced to lock in your Surf Ski 7 days prior to the event, to eliminate people reading wind forecasts and trying to predict the most favourable day.
Whatever race you compete in (Saturday or Sunday) your time will be recorded and your final placing will be determined once both race results are in. Only SHSC members can compete or potential club members.

Points: Finishing 1st in a race will give you a maximum of 200 points, and points descend to 1 point for last place. Your best 3 results out of the 5 races will count towards your final ranking. At the Sydney Harbour Surf Club Christmas Party December 8th, 2018 the Club Champion in each age group will be awarded their trophies.

Handicaps: Surf Ski type:
- Surf Skis (V14, V12, V10) no handicap
- Surf Life Saving Surf Ski 5 seconds per km handicap
- Surf Ski (V10 Sport) 10 seconds per km handicap
- Surf Ski (V8 Pro) 30 seconds per km handicap
- Surf Ski (V8) 50 seconds per km handicap
Age Groups:
- (40-49yrs) 5 seconds per km handicap
- (50 – 59 yrs) 10 seconds per km handicap
- (60 yrs plus) 15 seconds per km handicap
Gender:
- Females 15 seconds per km handicap
