Is this series sanctioned by USA Cycling?

NO, the series is NOT permitted by USAC.  No license required!

 

 

Which category should I register for?

  • Beginner - (Cat3) First time racers or those with minimal race experience, you're just here to have fun
    • 3 XC Laps, estimated time 45-60 minutes
    • 2 XC Laps for all Juniors 13-18
  • Sport - (Cat2) Moderately experienced/skilled riders who can maintain a strong pace for over an hour
    • 1 Prologue and 4 XC Laps, estimated time 75-90 minutes
  • Expert - (Cat1) You know who you are... you will race anyone, anywhere, anytime.
    • 1 Prologue and 6 XC Laps, estimated time 90+ minutes
       

 

What are my race options?

Choose your race based on category, gender, & age OR bike type SS or E-bike:

Kids

4-6, 7-9,10-12 (Boys & Girls race together, but will not be part of the team challenge for 2026)

Beginner

Women: 13-15, 16-18, 19-44, 45-59, 60+

Men: 13-15, 16-18, 19-44, 45-59, 60+

Clydesdale 225#+

Sport

Women: 13-15, 16-18, 19-49, 50+

Men: 13-15, 16-18, 19-44, 45-59, 60+

Singlespeed

Expert

Women: 19+

Men: 19-49, 50+

E-Bike

What's the deal with OKXC?

  • OKLAHOMA XC is a MTB Race Series 
  • There will be 6 spring races, with individual and team points race.
  • Check OKXC Website for all rules, events and standings 
  • Check the OKXC Facebook page and the Hells Bales Facebook Event for event updates.
  • A 2026 OKXC number plate is required to race.
  • A number plate will cost $0, be used for the entire season and includes electronic timing, a replacement/additional plate will cost $20.
  • A helmet is required at ALL times while riding a bike.
  • Riders may NOT be on any portion of the race course except while racing.  No pre-riding during live racing.

 

 

Will there be a series champion for each category within the OKXC series?

  • Yes, points are available at all OKXC events.
  • After the season finale, the racer with the most points is the series winner. 
  • You are allowed 1 drop race. 
  • Register for 5 out of 6 races and get 10% off for the season.

Will there be a team points race within the OKXC series?

  • Yes, the Team Challenge is comprised of teams with 4 to 6 racers.
  • The top 4 racers will score at each race.
  • There will be no drop races.
  • Racers do not have to be on the same 'sponsored team or club'.
  • There will be no charge or fee.
  • Team captain will create a team during registration "Team name (Team Challenge ONLY!)"
  • Other team members will select this team name during registration.

Will there be something for my kid to do?

  • Yes, the Kids Race is open to ages 4 to 12.
  • The courses will be age appropriate.
  • OKXC number plates are FREE for all Kids. 
  • No USAC or any other type of license required.
  • A helmet is required at ALL times while riding a bike
