CBRM Recreation is proud to sponsor the CBRM Youth Running Series!
The CBRM Youth Running Series offers youth the chance to experience running races throughout the municipality. The program is open to youth between the ages of 5-17 and includes a series of 10 road, trail and track races with distances between 1 mile and 2 kilometres. Participation in the series is free of charge and includes a CBRM Youth Running Series t-shirt. Each series event includes post-race refreshments and draw prizes.
Participants in the CBRM Youth Running Series are placed in one of three categories: Elementary, Junior and Senior. Series members in each category can qualify for bronze, silver and gold participation awards when they take part in races during the season (June to October):
Bronze: run 3 races minimum
Silver: run 6 races minimum
Gold: run 9 races minimum
As well, Junior and Senior series members can earn competitive points which will be accumulated to determine the top three winners at the end of the season. Bronze, silver and gold participation award winners and points winners will be recognized at the year-end banquet.
