Event notes
Race 2 in the 45NRTH Ontario Fat Bike Series p/b Cycle Solutions The course will be different than last year! The conditions were terrible but we had a great time, hopefully this year we get great conditions to play in. The goal is to make a competitive and fair race, but to balance that with being a fun day on the bike. It’s no fun to push a bike all day. The race will go through the barn, the VIP lounge will overlook the course (you need to like bikes to get in) there are heaters in the barn, an insulated and heated room for registration and timing (VIP lounge is above it) and we will have lots of chilli and hot chocolate. We’re back at the MTB Kingston trails for some fun in the snow! This race will feature a unique multi-lap ”endurance” format on a fun, fast course. Choose the solo 3-hour, solo 1.5-hour or Tag Team 3-hour race, and then complete as many laps as you can in the allotted time. (Whoever does the most laps for each race wins.) Where: MTB Kingston, 1255 Unity Road, Glenburnie, Ontario When: January 7, 2017. Registration 9-10 am. Race starts at 11 am. How long: 3 hours or 1.5 hours. Permitted tires sizes: 3.5” or wider. Who it’s for: Everyone who likes to ride in the snow or who wants to try it out! (and we are working on a kids race since the little munchkins are getting fat bikes too!) Food: Chili at the finish line. (Feel free to bring your own bowl and spoon. You’ll be our eco-hero.) Lap distance will be finalized close to the event as it is somewhat based on conditions.
