Somerset Surf Enduro 2026 - Board Races

Hi Participants,
YES! The 2026 Somerset Enduro is going ahead; however, due to the Easterly winds we have had to make some changes to the route for the 12km event. The 12km Enduro Event will now be an Easterly Course from the BURNIE Yacht Club to Somerset Surf Club. There are not any changes to the board races course.
Please note the following timetable for the day
0915 - 0930 2km and 4km board race competitors to check in
0945 2km and 4km race briefing in front of the Somerset Surf Club
1000 2km and 4km board races commence
All Enduro competitors and IRB drivers/crew must check-in at Somerset Surf Life Saving Club (upstairs) for briefing of the Easterly Course at 1100
1045 - 1100 12km Enduro Event Competitors check in and recieve race number- race numbers will not be given out at Burnie Yacht Club. Check in must be completed at Somerset and competitors must attend the race briefing
1100 Briefing all competitors and IRB/Crew upstairs Somerset Surf Life Saving Club - NW Coast Clubs remember, no IRB/Driver/Crew no entry into the event as per Somerset Enduro competition rules
Travel to Burnie Yacht Club
Approx 1200 start of the Somerset Enduro Burnie Yacht Club to Somerset Surf Club
Race Entry will close 5pm 2nd October

PLEASE NOTE: Somerset SLSC and the Event Referee are monitoring weather conditions and a decision will be made if the race takes place on Thursday, 1st September evening.
The long course will be an approximately 12km downwind course.
Easterly conditions: The race will start in front of the Burnie Yacht Club and finish in front of the Somerset SLSC.
Westerly conditions: The race will start in front of Guttridge Gardens approx. 400m upstream from the Wynyard Yacht Club jetty and boat ramp and will finish in front of the Somerset SLSC.
Severe weather option: The race will start in front of the Wynyard Yacht Club.
ENDURO 12km Events
Race Check in at the location (Wynyard or Burnie) and is open from 11:15am. Briefing will follow at 11:40am.
Race Start 12pm
Safety equipment required: hi-vis vests, flare or phone,leg ropes and approved PFD.
BOARD RACES
The board races will be held on a 4km and 2km course off Somerset Beach.
Board Race Check in will open from 9:15am
Briefing 9:45 for a 10:00am Start
Safety equipment required: hi-vis vests
All boat and IRB retrievals will be west of the Somerset SLSC Clubhouse It is expected that competing clubs assist with water safety (please contact Mark Anderson for more information 0437257015). Parking will be on the grass west of the clubhouse. Food and drink for purchase will be available.
