The Olympic Medical Center Foundation "Sonny Sixkiller 6K and 16K" takes place on the Olympic Discovery Trail in Port Angeles, Washington. The out-and-back course follows the trail along the waterfront from Hollywood Beach east along the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The run/walk race will be held in conjunction with the Sonny Sixkiller Husky Celebrity Golf Classic at the Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course (July 24), and will feature the most famous No. 6 in college football history – Sixkiller -- who will participate in the event.

“Ever since we started the golf tournament in 2011 I’ve wanted to do this,” Sixkiller said. “We plan to have many of the former Husky athletes who will be here for the golf tournament participate in the run.”

Sixkiller was the dynamic quarterback who turned around the Husky football program , and led the nation in passing in 1970. He also was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated October 4, 1971. He annually lines up a who’s who list of over 30 Husky legends to play in the tournament, including Bob Schloredt, Nesby Glasgow, Marques Tuiasosopo, Robin Earl and Steve Emtman. Also participating will be former Port Angeles High School player Scott Jones, who is the only Roughrider to have played in the NFL, that coming after a successful career as a tight end and offensive tackle at Washington.

The event will start at 9am. Entry fees are $35 for the 6K and $45 for the 16K. Youth price is $25 for both races. Participants will get a t-shirt for the event.
