Event notes

The Hawkesbury Classic Paddle is a unique opportunity to pit yourself against the physical and mental hurdles thrown up by a 100km, overnight, paddle from Windsor to Mooney Mooney on Sydney's majestic Hawkesbury River. The event is open to all forms of paddlecraft from single kayaks, canoes and ocean racing skis to multi-paddler outriggers and Dragon Boats.

The 60km Wiseman's Dash (Windsor to Wisemans) offers similar physical and mental challenges over a shorter distance.  Paddlers in the competitive 60km categories are eligible for the 60km records.

The 30km Sackville Sprint, (Windsor to Sackville) offered again this year, presents slightly different challenges, but also provides a bit of a taste of the Classic.  For the first time this year, records will be awarded to the fastest boats in the competitive 30km categories.

All three events can be entered in either the Competitive Classes, or in the Non-Competitive classes.
Non-Competitive classes for each event are as follows:

. 100km Classic - BorB1 for Singles, BorB2 for Doubles (Brooklyn or Bust)
. 60km Wisemans Dash - WorW1 for Singles, WorW2 for Doubles (Wisemans or Weep) - new in 2026
. 30km Sackville Sprint - SorS1 for Singles, SorS2 for Doubles (Sackville or Swim) - new in 2026.

Relay options are also available to paddlers/teams in the 100km Classic and the 60km Dash.

Before registering for any of the three distance options in the Hawkesbury Classic Paddle, please visit www.canoeclassic.net for full details of the event, including boat specifications, race categories, start times, pricing, insurance, mandatory fund raising ($200.00 through GiveNow) and mandatory landcrew arrangements.

Your landcrew will also need to provide their details, seperately through the HCC website (paddler name, landcrew name, vehicle details, phone number). Please have them do this promptly and have them update the details if anything changes prior to the event.

For event and paddler insurance purposes, all paddlers must either hold an active Paddle Australia (PA) membership or pay a Single Event Non-Member Fee ($24.00 for Seniors or $12.00 for Juniors).

The insurance fee for non-PA entrants will be automatically added as part of the registration process.

ALL paddlers need to complete the Event Registration.

For the avoidance of doubt, that is BOTH paddlers in any Double craft, and ALL paddlers in a K4, TC/C6, OC6, or Dragon Boat.

When completing your entry, if you are paddling a Double (eg; ORS2, REC2, UN2, TK2, etc) you MUST enter the name of your paddling partner.

If you are paddling in a Team Boat (eg; K4, TC/C6, Dragon Boat) you MUST enter the boat's Team Boat name. (It will help the organisers if all paddlers in the same team boat enter the same Team Boat name !!)

If you are entering in one of the Competitive classes, please note that Ages are calculated as at midnight 31st December 2026.  (EG: If you turn 50 at anytime in 2026 you must enter the 50+ veteran class.)
