WA Nordic Cup Final: Spring Fling Kings Court

Join us at Cabin Creek for the Washington Nordic Cup and Pacific Northwest Cup grand finale Spring Fling! 

All races are:

• Skate technique
• Boys and girls combined
• Age-limited by distance: 1200 m (U14, U16, U18, U20); 800 m (U10, U12); 300 m (U8)
  • Note that athletes may only do one event
• Kings' Court format: A qualifier race is held first with individual starts every 15 seconds. Based on the times in the qualifier, skiers are placed into heats, which are run as soon after the qualifier as possible. Each heat will have 6 skiers, with the top 2 advancing to the next faster heat, the middle 2 staying, and the bottom 2 moving to the next slower heat. For the 1200 m and 800 m, 3 rounds of heats will be run (quarterfinal, semifinal, final). Placing in the final determines placing for the event. If there are fewer than 24 skiers in a race distance we will begin with heats (no time qualifier) and run 4 heats. For the 300 m, only a time trial and a final will be run. 

Schedule

9:00 am Bib pickup begins

10:00 am U14, U16, U18, U20 combined 1200 m qualifier

 -- Followed by heats for 1200 m

12:30 pm U10, U12 combined 800 m qualifier

 -- Followed by heats for 800 m

1:30 pm U8 300 m Time trial and finals

Note: Skiers may compete in a race that does not correspond to their age group (for example a novice U16 could do the 800m), but there will be no additional age group awards. Please strongly consider entering the race that corresponds with skier age.
