The Story County Freedom Run is the second official event of the RUN Nevada Race Series. Since 2015, the Freedom Run has raised over $37,000 for local veterans. This year's run is a 5k that will start and finish at Billy Sunday Field
Earlybird 5k registration costs $35 through June 18 at 5pm, then increases to $40. All participants must register by July 3 at 5pm. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Earlybird registrants receive a race t-shirt. All participants receive a finisher medal courtesy of ALMACO and refreshments provided by the American Legion Auxiliary. Proceeds will go to the Nevada Fireworks Fund and the American Legion Auxiliary.
July 4, 2026 Schedule of Events:
7:00am-Packet pick-up at Billy Sunday Field (intersection of SW 4th St and I Ave in Nevada)
8:00am-Race begins
Immediately following the race: Medals presented to the top race finishers plus breakfast refreshments.
