Welcome to the last round of the Gravel in Paradise Series 2023. The Gravel 'n' Tar starts at the base of Puketapu, 'Sacred Hill'. A first up climb on the tar seal of Horse Range Road takes you straight onto the tight, fast and furious gravel section. Hang on tight to those bars as you are in for one hell of a ride! Starting at the DJ Murray Hall, Horse Range Road, Palmerston, Otago and finishing on Fleming Road, a short ride back to the start. There are four classes to enter: Ride Strong (Farming community in conjunction with Farmstrong), E-Bike (non- competition), Gravel 2-Community class and Gravel 1-Championship class. The Gravel 1 Championship class class is 4 laps and 65kms, and all other classes are 3 laps and 50kms. There are three age groups under each class, 20 years and younger, 21 years to 49 years and 50 years and over. Sign on will be from 9-30am-10-15 am, Race briefing at 10-30am and mass start at 11am. Prizegiving and series prizegiving will be post event at the Waihemo Lodge, Main Street, Palmerston Otago. This will include Gravel n Tar medals for all podium finishers in all categories and classes excluding E-Bike and spot prizes kindly sponsored by My Ride Dunedin. Series podium medals for all categories and classes excluding E-Bike, finishing certificates for all riders, trophies for the overall fastest male and female in the Championship Gravel 1 class and a trophy for the fastest farmer in the Ride Strong.
