Feel like a professional rider and enjoy the Trust House Foundation New Zealand Cycle Classic (NZCC) Tour atmosphere.

Cross the official finish line of the Queen Stage of the 2022 NZCC. Two attractive distances (100km & 50km) along the actual racing sections of the elite course await you!

This is the first ever GRAN FONDO to take place during an international cycle race in New Zealand.

Every GRAN FONDO takes place alongside a major international cycle tour, giving cycling fans the opportunity to complete one or part of the stages that pro riders will do during the tour.

The rides takes place in WAIRARAPA during the morning of Stage Four of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) 2.2 competition. The NZCC pro riders also finish at the top of Te Wharau Hill later in the day.

If you'd like to know what it's like to race a stage of the men’s international Cycle Classic and feel like a pro, here's your chance, for this is as close as it gets!

This is the first opportunity ever in New Zealand to ride a stage of an international UCI Tour the same day as the Pro Teams.

It's a challenge - not a race, this event is for everyone who loves to ride a bike, ideal for individuals or social, club, corporate and sporting teams looking for a ride with a difference and want to do a stage of the international tour or part of it. The challenge is open to everyone over 16 years of age entering as individual or teams.

You can ride the event on a road, mountain bike, tandem or electric bike – we want you to enjoy the ride!

Start getting organised and take on the challenge - will you make it to the finish before the professionals arrive?

Riders who enter the GRAN FONDO will received a FREE entry to Cycle the Golden Mile the next day, Sunday 9 January, along Lambton Quay in WELLINGTON.
