Keep those New Year’s Resolutions with the first FarmWhkFitness Trail Run for 2021: the IJG Sunrise Run!

Starting at dawn on Saturday, 30 January, run, hike or walk the hills at IJG Trails with great views of the sun rising over Windhoek.

Choose either the 9km or 17km distance – how far will you challenge yourself?

The start/finish line will be at the IJG Trails coffee area in Kleine Kuppe, Windhoek. All participants must be there at 06:00, ready for the event.

Coffee, breakfast and drinks will be for sale before and after the Run! You can also pre-purchase a breakfast meal online when you register on Webscorer.

Tickets cost N$150 for the 9km and N$200 for the 17km. Online entries will close at midnight on Tuesday, 26 January 2020.

Number collection and late registration (N$300 for the 9km and N$400 for the 17km) will be on Friday, 29 January, 2020.

Back for 2021: All children 10 years and younger can take part in the Kanatje Trail! Children need to be accompanied by an adult on this FREE easy 2km route that will give the kiddies their very own trail fun run. Please note this will take place after the 17km and 9km runs have started. You can register your child online via Webscorer or at number collection on the 29th.

All logistics for the IJG Sunrise Run 2021 are subject to the relevant Covid-19 health regulations and guidelines, and participants will be informed accordingly.

SAFETY
Participants need to assess themselves (and any minors they are responsible for) and determine whether they are fit enough to take part in the IJG Sunrise Run.

For off-road running it is recommended that you make use of trail running shoes, which provide greater support and traction.

Should you have any difficulty or injury, please request your fellow runners/walkers to notify the next marshal on the route so that arrangements can be made to get assistance to you. There will be medics at the start/finish who will attend to emergencies (details will be given at the briefing).

All participants take part in the event at their own risk and indemnify the organisers, sponsors, host and other authorities of any loss or injury, however that loss or injury may be caused, which might occur in preparation for, during or subsequent to the event and in any circumstances in which the organisers, sponsors and local and other authorities might attract a legal liability in respect of such injury or loss.

Other possible dangers on a trail route include wild and farm animals.

ENVIRONMENT
Littering will not be tolerated. All containers and packaging must be carried and only disposed of at official bins/support areas. In general, please respect the environment. We are making use of private property.

FarmWhkFitness equipment and obstacles are not to be used without proper guidance by FarmWhkFitness members. Please do not damage any property or obstacles. Obstacles are used at your own risk and FarmWhkFitness indemnifies itself and the members from any liability arising how so ever.

GENERAL RULES

Competitors shall:

Practice good sportsmanship at all times.
Be responsible for their own safety.
Obey instructions from race officials.
Treat other competitors, officials, volunteers, and spectators with respect and courtesy.
Ensure that they are familiar with the race course; the participant is responsible for any deviations from the route.
Ensure that numbers are clearly displayed on the front of their shirts at all times.

Further instructions about race numbers and finishing protocol will be announced at the start of the Run. Please pay attention to these instructions.

No items deemed to be a hazard to yourself or others can be worn (e.g. no headsets or headphones).
