Love is in the air in Mathews Virginia!


Grab your favorite running buddy and lace up for this live event (non virtual) - a 2 person relay with a Valentine's theme in beautiful Mathews County Virginia. Sign up to enjoy the inaugural running of the Lovers Lane 10k Relay starting & finishing in downtown Mathews.

Located at 239 Main Street, the Mathews Co Visitor Information Center (MCVIC) is the host site of this Valentine's themed event. The race consists of two 5k legs that can be run individually OR split up by you and a partner: you only need to decide who will go first. Don't have a partner in mind? No problem: we'll pair you up with another single participant.

Lovers Lane 10k Run & Relay safety precautions.
For the safety and comfort of racers and volunteers, the race director & MCVIC have agreed upon the following precautions. Read through these thoroughly and don't hesitate to send questions on race security to vttrunners@gmail.com.

Masks indoors - race check-in will be just outside the Visitor Center (porch), as will the post-event snacks & drinks and awards. Access to the indoors is available on an as-needed basis (restroom use, for example).

Social distancing - the Visitor Center will be open during the event. HOWEVER due to VA state safety guidelines, we are limiting & monitoring entry indoors to ensure we do not exceed a 25-person limit. Please help ensure we stay in good standing with our host location by limiting your building access.

The race start will be divided into lanes spaced six feet apart. Groups of 4-6 people will take off followed closely by another group until all of the first leg-runners are on the course. The transition area is still TBC; this event will be chip timed: as you finish your leg, just transfer your chip to your partner. One water stop is at the 5k turnaround point.
