Welcome to the Red River Virtual Challenge #1

The goal of these FREE virtual events is to encourage people to get out paddling on the Red River. For those participating in the Red River Paddle Challenge on September 26, 2020 this is an excellent way to train and build up some mileage before the big day! Participate in this challenge as much as you want. See if you can improve your time.

In this virtual paddle, participants will paddle from the St Vital Park boat launch to the dock at the Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Center. The distance is approximately 10.5 km (6.5 mi). Just like the Red River Paddle Challenge, this virtual event is open to all paddle craft.

How it works:

This is a virtual race where you will time yourself on the attached course, and then self-report your time via your Webscorer racer profile page. Any time between July 7 and August 31, paddle from the dock at St Vital Park boat launch to the dock at the Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Center.

After completing the paddle challenge, sign in to your Webscorer racer profile page as follows:

1. Navigate to Webscorer > Profiles > My racer profile
2. Tap Upcoming races
3. Tap on the Enter time button.
4. Enter your race time as HH:MM:SS
5. Share your results on social media :)

Participants are encouraged to time their paddles using their GPS enabled watch (e.g., Garmin, Apple) or a smartphone app such as Paddle Logger or Strava to record their time. Email us a screenshot, or even better share a screenshot of your finished results to Facebook or Instagram and be sure to tag us @redriverpaddlechallenge and use any of the following hashtags #redriverpaddlechallenge #rrpc
