Welcome to the 2020 Sun of a Gun biathlon race! Registration closes at 8 pm, on February 7! There is no day of race registration! Location: Liberty Bell High School/McCabe Trails, 18 Twin Lakes Road, Winthrop, WA. Start list will be posted at Webscorer.com by 5 pm Saturday.

Entry Fees: Methow Valley Biathlon Member* - $15, Non-MVB Member - $25
* MVB Members contact Betsy Devin-Smith if you do not have the discount code.

Eligibility: Biathlon is open to all athletes age 9 and over who have completed a US Biathlon certified safety clinic. All competitors must be current members of US Biathlon, Biathlon Canada or purchase a USBA member for a day license for $10. (see registration form). Race Format: Interval start (10 sec), four shooting bouts, 5 laps skiing. Short (< 100 m) penalty lap for each missed shot.

Please note: All rifles must be in soft or hard cases unless they are on the range or on the athletes back while skiing on the course. No rifles in the school building. Any unattended rifles must be in locked vehicles.

Race Day Schedule:
8:00 - 9:00 - Bib Pick-Up and Waiver Signing
9:00 - 9:45 - Zero
10:00 - Race Start

Categories & Distances (start order is as shown, Novice Midgets first)
Novice Midgets – 3 KM, Shooting prone only (PPPP) with rest on large targets (U13 or by coach's discretion)
Dev 1 - 4 KM, Shooting prone only (PPPP) with rest on small targets
Dev 2 – 5 KM, Shooting prone only (PPPP) no rest (cuff) on small targets
U17 – 7.5 KM, Shooting prone & standing (PPSS), rifle rack-to-rack
U20 – 7.5 KM, Shooting prone & standing (PPSS), carrying rifle
Masters 20+ - 7.5 KM, Shooting prone & standing (PPSS), carrying rifle
Parents - 3 KM, Shooting prone only (PPPP) with rest on large targets
