Enduro-style XC MTB race to be held on the single-track flow trails and XC trails at Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, VA. 100% of the profits will go to Friends of Pocahontas State Park (FoPSP) for funding the parking lot project! Sponsors include: RVA MORE, Terrapin, Carytown Bicycle Co, Ballad, RVA Racing, Bell Joy Ride, Saxman Photography, RunningFire Design, Oakley, LILO Collections, Brew, and more. Awesome prizes and giveaways!
This race will involve 4 timed stages on downhill portions of the Swift Creek trail system with non-timed transfer segments in between. Racers will start in 30 second increments and will be seeded by category and sub-category, and then by date of reg. All cats will complete the same timed stages but transfer stages will be shorter for beginner/youth classes. Timed stages will include: Bell Lap (downhill), Blue Jay Way, Blueberry Descent, and Corkscrew (not in order). Beginner/Youth will ride a total of 9 miles and Sport/Expert will ride 16.
Your entry fee includes: race reg, a drawstring sports bag (first 150 to reg) and a free entry into the park for race day.
Early packet pick-up is available and encouraged on Friday from 5:00-9:00 at Brew. Brew is a restaurant located off Ironbridge Rd near Pocahontas. If there's a decent turn-out, Brew will donate $500 to FoPSP to go toward the funding. Please plan to join us! Packet pickup also available the morning of the race starting around 7:45am. Most racers will begin at approximately 9:15am. After the race, food and beverages (including beer from Terrapin and Ballad) will be available for purchase. Again, all profits are going toward the cause. Please remember to bring your ID and cash/card and invite your friends/family to come join the celebration. Awards will take place at approx 1:00pm.
