23k Marathon & Ladies & Juniors K4 Championships


Race Courses

Long Course [23km]:
Ascot Kayak Club to Barkers Bridge [West Swan Rd], back round Ron Courtney Island, back up to Barkers Bridge, finish at Ascot Kayak Club

Short Course [Approx. 13km.]:
Ascot Kayak Club to Barkers Bridge [West Swan Rd], finish at Ascot Kayak Club

Guppy and Novice Course [Approx 4.4km]:
Start AKC Jetty, facing downstream, paddle around back of Ron Courtney Island, left hand turn at lower end and return upstream, staying on right hand side of the river, to buoy near first spit post, left hand turn around buoy and spit post. Paddle back around Island and buoy/spit post to finish at the jetty paddling downstream.

U10s – finish after 2nd rounding of buoy/spit post, U12s/Novices – finish after 3rd rounding of buoy/spit post .

Ladies and Juniors K4 Championships:


Ascot Kayak Club to Olive Farm, back round Ron Courtney Island, three laps, finish at Ascot Kayak Club [approx 13km]

Class Notes:
Special K3 Class: In Double Barkers Main Course: Combined age of paddlers has to be less than 150yrs
Guppy K2: Assigned to Under 10 for this race day

Number on Boat:
Ensure vertical & readable both sides. Number slots with suckers on sale $15
River Hazards:
Boat traffic, Oncoming boats at Fish Market Reserve
Sun & Heat:
Protective clothing, sun block & water to drink
