Island Iron June 10, 2023 - OC6 - Short Course

ISLAND IRON 2023  Comox Valley Canoe Racing Club (CVCRC) is pleased to host the Island Iron on Saturday, June 10th in Comox. Complete 2023 CORA Cup Race Series Rules are here: CORA CUP OC6 RACE SERIES RULES There will be two courses; the Long course which will be approximately 15 km to 18 km, and the Short Course which will be between 6 km to 8 km. Actual distance and course will be determined on the day of the event, pending course conditions. Traditionally these courses start from the Comox Marina heading into the Harbour and out around the buoys towards Denman Island and back.  RACE START TIMES: • 9:00 AM -- SHORT COURSE -- MEN, WOMEN & MIXED • 11:00 AM -- LONG COURSE -- WOMEN • 1:00 PM -- LONG COURSE – MEN • 3:00 PM -- LONG COURSE – MIXED All racers must have 2023 CORA membership or have purchased CORA single day pass for Island Iron. Please do this in advance to save time on race day. Memberships can be found at CORA MEMBERSHIPS CVCRC will also be hosting a second day of events on Sunday, June 11th for small boats which will include OC1, OC2, surfskis, V1's and SUP’s as a mass start of the pier at Comox Marina. Course distance is generally between 10km to 12km and will be determined on race day conditions. Registration closes on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 5:00 pm Lunch is not provided. However, food and beverages can be found at food trucks on site or nearby grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops and pubs.
