Cape Urban Racing Experience is a checkpoint, self timed event where participants run to various iconic locations throughout Cape Girardeau, MO. This race benefits For The Children Camp- a camp for kids in the foster care system. Participants receive a Finisher Medal and finisher shirt What to know: To participate, you need a smart phone with the free Webscorer app that can scan QR codes There are 2 events: The Navigator- a 3 person team event where each member must optimize a route of 5 checkpoints. Only one person on the team needs to register- this is the account that will log into the smart phone that will be handed off during the relay. This is a competitive event The Scavenger- a solo event consisting of 5-10 unknown checkpoints where at each one is a clue to the next. This event is non-competitive. Each participant will need a smart phone Total distance of 5 locations (each team leg) and the entire Scavenger should be around 10-12k (6-7 miles) of running when optimizing the route for distance. All location check points will be outside the building. Course is not closed so all traffic laws must be obeyed; no trespassing is allowed; no use of non-public areas that you may have permission to access (cutting through your home/yard, cutting through your business, etc.) No aid stations on course- this is a self supported adventure! No outside aid- can’t have family/friends drop off or take items while out on course. Everything you start with must cross the finish line with you- if you plan to take layers off, be able to transport them with you. All nutrition items must be disposed of properly- no littering!
