Route: Waba Ramble [Almonte]

Start: Almonte Curling Club 160 Bridge St, Almonte, ON K0A 1A0. Washrooms at start.
Tires: 32mm+, but experienced riders can get by on 28mm
Surface: This is a mixed surface ride. Some pavement, some hardpack, some gravel, and a section of the Ottawa Valley Rail Trail. No unmaintained, rough trails.

Description: A gradual climb on pavement, then hardpack roads past Fulton's Pancake House on Sugarbush Rd. Continue on Bellamy Road along the south side of the Pakenham Mountains area to get into White Lake cottage country. Take paved roads to Waba, then a mix of paved and unpaved roads. Pass the Cartwright Springs Brewery at 45.5km - This is a very popular stop for grave cyclists. Take the Ottawa Valley Rail Trail into Pakenham. There are several options for food here... Butter tarts! Ice Cream! Take the rail trail on a scenic bridge across the Mississippi and then Mountainview Road. Get back on the rail trail for a very scenic entry into Almonte and another Mississippi River Crossing.
