This is a 2 Day Course - 24 & 25 November 2018.



This 2 Day course is based on the Paddle Australia Award scheme for guiding recreational paddlers OR instructing new paddlers to the various types of waters found on lakes, estuaries, rivers, and seas. For this reason, a guide or Instructor will need to be a highly competent paddler in the particular environment, range of conditions and type of boat used by recreational paddlers before coming to this course.

We conduct a Skills Review usually a week or so before the course date to hone skills. This will enable the course time to focus on the needs of guides and instructors. Contact Mark at mark@kayakschool.com.au to arrange. You will need to bring your own craft and equipment. Payment of $50 for the Skill Review can be made directly to the Instructor on this day.

If a participant has completed a previous PaddleNSW Guide/Instructor Training Course or undertaken Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) review, they can apply to undergo assessment during the course. This must be confirmed before the course start date.

THIS FLATWATER GUIDE TRAINING COURSE: is for competent paddlers who can paddle as part of a group in flat in sheltered undemanding waters. In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge to guide others on flatwater trips in the recreation industry, Organisations or Clubs.
