THE COMPANY OF RUNNERS request your attendance at an exclusive invitation-only marathon race on Sunday September 30th, 2018, starting at 9am beside the Essex Records Office in Chelmsford.

The event will be the inaugural running of the Blackwater Marathon - a marathon distance trail race along the banks of the navigation from Chelmsford to Heybridge and back.

This will be the first ever running of the race and is being made available to a limited group of 25 runners that we know and trust, and who can help us to stage our first ever marathon-distance event, safe in the knowledge that any feedback you provide will be friendly and constructive.

The route is a magnificent canal-side romp past field and lock through the Essex countryside. The trail is technical and at that time of year liable to be a nice muddy affair.

You are permitted to forward this invite to one additional person who will be considered your ‘Plus One’ for this race. Please do not widely publicise the event as we want to keep it exclusive this year.

Entry to the race is just £20 per runner which will go towards helping us cover the costs of a finisher’s medal, an exclusive ‘First 50’ technical T-Shirt only available to the inaugural runners, and to help us stock the checkpoints with your favourite snacks. We also want you to let us know what those snacks are when you submit your entry!

If you are unable to attend please let us know and we will release your place to another runner on our priority list.
