There are four race distances: 1.5km, 2.5km, 5km and 10km.

The 1.5km race is for boys and girls under 8 years old (as of 12/31/17).

The 2.5km is for boys and girls ages 8-13 (as of 12/31/17).

The 5km race is for boys and girls ages 14-17 (as of 12/31/17).

The 10km is for boys and girls ages 18-19 (as of 12/31/17) as well as adults.

Any skiers wishing to ski a different distance for their age will receive the minimum point score for the event in the Washington Nordic Cup.
