Great trail race. Very well marked. Not a great deal of elevation, but VERY ROUGH surface. It was all cattle range land, coulees, basalt rock towers and cliffs, water-filled potholes, barbed wire fences (27 climbs over wooden stiles), through cow dung fresh and dry, dried mud holes pocked with cow hooves, badger and gopher holes and dirt mounds, tall and short grass, rocks and short climbs and drops, jeep trails only tire-track wide with rough ground on the sides and in the middle, bushwhacking through range land where there was no discernable trail until joining back up with single-track, chasing a herd of cows off the trail, scaring a herd of deer off the trail, meadowlarks singing all day long, fierce wind with gusts that blew you backward, forward and sideways, sunshine and friends. It was a blast! All it needs is more participants in the various distances next year.
